Shell Chair
The Shell Chair is a contemporary take on the traditional rocking chair—compact, playful, and made entirely from steel rod. Designed with a modern outdoor lifestyle in mind, it brings a sense of movement and colour to small gardens, terraces, and patios.
Designed at Viewport.
London, UK
The seat shell is crafted from fine 4mm steel rod, giving it a light, airy presence, while the base and legs use a sturdier 18mm rod for structural integrity. This interplay of thicknesses creates a striking visual balance—sleek and minimal without compromising strength.
Finished in a range of colourful epoxy powder coatings, the Shell Chair is designed to live comfortably in outdoor environments, particularly on timber decking or other hard surfaces. Its open form and sculptural lines make it as decorative as it is functional, bridging the gap between outdoor furniture and expressive object.
